A new outdoor venue in Marseille

Looking for a new outdoor venue where you can get a taste of Marseille after your next event at Marseille Chanot? The Sofitel Vieux Port hotel terrace opened yesterday.

This 150 sq m terrace, with an outstanding view over the Vieux-Port was developed in line with the hotel colour scheme and design themes. It is a fulfilment of the goals set by Silvio Iocovino, Hotel Manager, since his arrival in late 2014 – to open the hotel up to foreign markets and install a panoramic rooftop terrace. “The aim is to create a new venue in line with image of this bustling dynamic city, where rooftop terraces are becoming a trend. The ultimate Sofitel Mediterranean destination needed an open space in tune with this atmosphere.” It took 8 months and €1.5 million to create the ‘Dantes’. The Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port has named the terrace after Edmond Dantes, the Count of Monte Cristo, in order to further increase its connection with the city. The venue will run an eclectic programme, opening at noon and in the evenings, with musical nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
